Scope of Services

Law Prep Consulting is not a law firm. We are not lawyers or paralegals, and no one at Law Prep Consulting is licensed by the Law Society of Ontario. We do not provide legal advice, legal opinions, legal research or legal representation, and we do not prepare legal materials.

We assist self-represented litigants by:

• Formatting court documents the client has already written to the court’s published layout requirements

• Organizing and labelling exhibits and assembling the client’s materials into indexed, paginated records

• Producing electronic-filing-ready PDFs (searchable text, bookmarks, hyperlinks, tables of contents)

• Checking the formatting of documents against the court’s published requirements

• Providing general information about publicly available court procedures, filing requirements and published timelines

We do not:

• Give legal advice or legal opinions, including whether you have a case, what to argue, which evidence to rely on, or your chances of success

• Prepare legal materials — we do not write, draft, complete or revise the content of any affidavit, notice, factum, form or other court document

• Draft, format or assist with pleadings (statements of claim, statements of defence, replies or counterclaims)

• Choose your forms, your grounds, your remedy or your strategy, or tell you whether to bring a motion or an appeal

• Calculate or confirm the legal deadline that applies to your matter

• Conduct legal research

• Act or communicate on your behalf with any court, tribunal or opposing party

• Represent you in any capacity

Privacy & Confidentiality

Any personal information you provide is kept confidential and used only for the purpose of delivering our services. We do not share client information without consent, unless required by law. Please see our Privacy Policy for more information.

No Legal Advice

Nothing on this website or through our services should be interpreted as legal advice. For legal advice tailored to your situation, you must consult a licensed lawyer or paralegal.

The best way to use our service is to consult a lawyer or paralegal first, take their advice, write your document with it, and then send us the text to format and assemble. The Law Society Referral Service (lsrs.lso.ca, 1-855-947-5255) connects Ontario residents with a lawyer or paralegal for a free consultation of up to 30 minutes.

Any documents or materials formatted or assembled by Law Prep Consulting are for formatting and organizational purposes only, based on content and instructions provided by the client and publicly available information. The client is responsible for the content of every document.

Limitation of Liability

LawPrep Consulting will not be liable for:

• Any loss, damage, or misunderstanding resulting from the use of our website or services

• Errors or omissions in any materials we help you format or organize

• Missed deadlines, incorrect filings, or procedural issues

We make every effort to ensure accuracy but do not guarantee any outcome or result in your legal matter.

Payment, Refunds & No Guarantee of Outcome

All service fees are charged for time and expertise in document formatting, organization and assembly — not for results. We do not offer refunds for completed services. We make no guarantees regarding the success of your matter in court or before any tribunal.
