What services does Law Prep Consulting provide?
We provide court document formatting, exhibit organization, indexing, bookmarking, filing-ready PDF assembly and general procedural information for self-represented litigants in Ontario. You supply the content of your documents; we make them court-ready. We offer stand-alone services and complete formatting packages.
What is the Document Review Service?
A review of your draft court documents for formatting, structure, organization and the court’s published filing requirements. We identify the formatting and assembly corrections needed before you file. It does not include comments on your arguments or evidence, legal advice, or representation.
How does the online ordering process work?
Simply upload your documents, provide a brief description of your matter, and submit your order securely online. Our team will review your materials and contact you within one business day to go through the formatting and assembly corrections.
Can you format individual court documents?
Yes. Stand-alone services include formatting and assembly of:
- Factums you have written
- Appeal Records and Appeal Books
- Motion Records

- Compendiums
- Exhibit Books
- Affidavits and exhibits you have drafted
- PDF Bookmarking and Hyperlinking
- Filing-ready assembly
You may also purchase complete formatting packages.
Can I purchase complete formatting packages online?
Yes. Many of our complete formatting packages and stand-alone services can be purchased securely through our online store. If you’re unsure which package is appropriate, contact us before placing your order.
Are my documents kept confidential?
Yes. All documents submitted through our secure upload system are treated as confidential and are used solely for the purpose of providing the requested services.
What payment methods do you accept?
Payments are processed securely online by credit card during checkout.
How much is the Document Review?
The Document Review is $195 + HST. Upload your documents, and if you go on to purchase a formatting package the full review fee is credited toward it.
How quickly will I receive my document review?
Document reviews are normally completed within 5–7 business days after your order and documents have been received.
What is the best way to use Law Prep Consulting?
Consult a lawyer or paralegal first, take their advice, write your document with it, and send us the text. We format it, correct the grammar and language, organize the exhibits and hand back a filing-ready record. If you don’t have a lawyer, the Law Society Referral Service (lsrs.lso.ca, 1-855-947-5255) offers a free consultation of up to 30 minutes.
Are you lawyers or paralegals?
No. Law Prep Consulting is not a law firm, and no one on our team is a lawyer or paralegal licensed by the Law Society of Ontario. We are a document formatting and organization service. Do you provide legal advice?
No. We do not give legal advice, legal opinions or legal research, and we do not represent anyone. We will not tell you whether you have a case, what to argue, which evidence to use or what your chances are. We do not prepare legal materials or work on pleadings. We format, organize and assemble the documents you have written, and we explain the general procedures the courts publish.
